I am a professional writer, reporter, and storyteller.

I began my career more than 20 years ago in China, and I still approach my work as an act of translation. When something happens in a foreign country, a city neighborhood, or an industry steeped in jargon, people talk about it in their own language, one that outsiders may not understand.

My job is to decode accurately and explain clearly. That means listening without bias, writing without ego, and asking question upon question until I understand.
